Friday, 8-9 PM: Mechanics of the spine
The spine: mysterious, miraculous, and often problematic! In yoga, the spine is heralded as the foundation or emphasis of many poses, and for good reason. A healthy spine and good body mechanics, both in yoga practice and daily life, is essential to warding off chronic back pain.
In this hour, you will learn basic spinal anatomy and mechanics, as well as common causes of spinal dysfunction and where they show up in the yoga practice (and how to fix it!).
